As Samsung’s President and Head of the Mobile Experience Business – TM Roh – put it the other day: “Welcome to the Era of Mobile AI”.To allure both fellow Android AND iOS users to the Galaxy experience, Samsung has made it possible for (almost) all phone owners to give Galaxy AI a try and potentially switch teams. This is done with the help of the Try Galaxy app, which was (up until now) tailored to iOS users – it’s now available on all* Android devices including Galaxy models for the first time.*The Try Galaxy app is available on supported Android…
If you’re looking for ways to complete your Galaxy ecosystem with new earbuds at a bargain price, Walmart’s got you covered. The non-Pro Galaxy Buds 2 in White can now be yours at $54 off through this tempting deal on the US model in White. While we often see discounts for these Samsung earbuds, Walmart’s deal is actually not something you can come across every other day. Price cuts across paintjobs rarely surpass the $50 mark, so you should definitely consider buying these right away if you don’t feel like waiting for a potentially better deal (who knows when and…
When Apple showed off the Dynamic Island during the 2022 event, the initial response of some viewing the livestream was awe and excitement. Others were not impressed. With the Dynamic Island available on all four iPhone 15 models this year, more iPhone users than ever have been experiencing the feature. While I was one of those excited by the Dynamic Island when it was unveiled, for the most part, I have been underwhelmed by it.According to information obtained by MacRumors, before deciding on the final placement and capabilities of the Dynamic Island, Apple had some other locations and formats it…
The Nothing Phone 2a has been in the headlines recently, with the most recent story giving us glimpses of its hot looks. Will the Nothing Phone 2a be able to gain a notable place among these well-known phones? Or will it even be able to kick them out of their otherwise secure job positions? Let’s discuss it!Before we dive in though, it’s important to mention that these three phones are not announced…

Research firm TrendForce forecasts that growth in the global foldable phone market will slow this year to 11%. That would represent a big slowdown compared to the 25% year-over-year growth in shipments that the foldable sector experienced last year. With 15.9 million foldable phones delivered in 2023, this sector made up 1.4% of overall worldwide smartphone shipments last year.TrendForce sees shipments of foldables rising to 17.7 million units in 2024 which would raise the market share of foldable phones to 1.5% of the overall market. By 2025, foldables will capture 2% of industry shipments. The report cites two reasons for the…

Arm and Samsung are working together to develop custom versions of Arm’s Cortex-X and Cortex-A CPU cores to be used with the next-gen 2nm chips that Samsung Foundry will be producing next year using Gate-All-Around (GAA) transistors. Unlike the currently used FinFET transistors, GAA uses horizontal nanosheets that are placed vertically to cover the channels with gates on all four sides. This reduces current leaks, improves the drive current, and can help reduce energy consumption.Chris Bergey, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Arm Inc. says, “Our longstanding collaboration with Samsung has delivered multi-generation, leading-edge innovation. Optimizing Cortex-X and Cortex-A…
Here’s a secret no one cares about – I’m not sold on Chat GPT. The reason that’s the case is simple (and perhaps surprising) – I’ve never used Chat GPT. And yes, that’s coming from a “smartphone nerd”.How come? Well, my interest in phones aside, I wouldn’t really call myself a “tech nerd”. For example, I know my way around a tablet/laptop but only because I’ve had to do research on them for either personal (pre-purchase), or professional reasons. So, I guess I never really bought into the Chat GPT hype, because I figured I don’t need to.But now that…

Tal, who has been obsessed with infectious disease since losing an uncle to HIV/AIDS and a cousin to meningococcal meningitis, wondered what this striking diversity could reveal about our immune response to infection. According to one hypothesis, the wide array of these receptors is the result of an evolutionary arms race between disease-causing microbes and the immune system. Think of the receptor as a lock, and the “Nothing to see here” message as a key. Pathogens might evolve to produce their own chemical mimics of this key, effectively hiding from the immune system in plain sight. In response, the human…

After promising that its software would shield internet users from third-party tracking, Avast allegedly harvested and sold customers’ online browsing data, according to the Federal Trade Commission. The maker of antivirus software deceived customers by claiming it would protect their privacy, while not making clear it would collect and sell their “detailed, re-identifiable browsing data,” the agency announced Thursday.”Avast promised users that its products would protect the privacy of their browsing data but delivered the opposite,” Samuel Levine, director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection, in a statement. “Avast’s bait-and-switch surveillance tactics compromised consumers’ privacy and broke the law.” U.K.-based…
