The latest iOS-exclusive app to make its way to Android is the popular note-taking app, GoodNotes, and there are a few important details worth noting. Lately, a few iOS-exclusive apps have begun to make their way to other platforms. Just recently, the non-linear video editor, LumaFusion was launched for Android and Chromebooks.
GoodNotes was first released in 2011 for the iPad and has remained one of the top note-taking apps for Apple's tablets. 12 years later, it has made its way to Android, albeit in beta for now. At the moment, the app will only be available to use on select Samsung Galaxy tablets that meet certain specifications. The official announcement also reveals that there are limited slots for those who want to give the beta version of the app a try.

GoodNotes Is Limited To Select Samsung Tablets
The GoodNotes app is available to install on Samsung Galaxy Tab devices with a display size of at least 8-inches and a minimum of 3GB RAM. These requirements should cover all Samsung's Galaxy Tab flagships released in the past few years, including the Galaxy Tab S8 series released in 2022 and the older Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S6 series. While these requirements greatly reduce the number of users that can give the app a test run, it is expected that more models will be supported once the app exits beta. In addition, there are only 10,000 slots for testers around the world, so even if a person has a supported device, they may not be able to test the app if all the slots have been taken.
For now, the GoodNotes app is only available via “an online-first” experience and thus requires an internet connection to work. Users will also need a Google account to use the app. The beta version of the app limits the number of notebooks a user can create to just 20. Those who own the app on iOS and Mac and want to sync their notes with the Android app will not be able to do so. And because the app is still in beta, it is expected that there will be bugs. Notes created on Android can be shared and viewed on any device with an internet connection.
Despite the limitations, the app is currently free to test. However, when it comes out of beta, it is expected to have a one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the full experience. The GoodNotes app has more than 50 note templates and a variety of pen tools with different color palettes and thicknesses. While a stylus such as the S Pen is the best input device to use with the app, it also supports mouse input. The first version of the GoodNotes app for Android is scheduled for release this year, but there is no specific date yet.
